Program Description

The Culture, Language and Cognition group at Northwestern is a cross-school initiative intended to support new research on topics that reveal the links between language, cultural processes, and higher cognitive processes.

Faculty in the program come from the departments of Psychology, Linguistics, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Education and Social Policy, and Anthropology. The program is supported by a grant from Northwestern's Office of the Vice President for Research.

We have extended the submission deadline to April 9, 2007.

Keynote speakers for this conference include:

Edd Taylor (University of Wisconsin-Madison)
Olivier Le Guen (Universite de Paris)
Joan Chiao (Northwestern University)

We are pleased to invite submissions to the 2nd biennial Midwestern Conference for Culture, Language and Cognition. This conference will focus on research that cuts across the boundaries of culture, language, and cognition. We welcome presentations involving links between at least two of these three topics. Both graduate student and faculty presentations are welcome. All presentations will be paper presentations.
